Support for restaurant and café owners

The City of Luxembourg has decided to support restaurant and café owners by assisting them with the logistics involved in applying the CovidCheck system, with the aim of facilitating procedures for both patrons and business operators.

HORECA patrons

Patrons can collect rapid antigen test vouchers (maximum two per person) from the reception desk at City Hall or the "Rocade" administrative building (3, Rue du laboratoire, L-1911 Luxembourg).

Patrons can take these vouchers to any of the test centres in Luxembourg City (see list below) and have a certified antigen test done on the spot. The certificate issued will be valid for 48 hours, allowing patrons to visit a restaurant or café during that time.

A financial contribution of €5 per certified rapid antigen test is required at the moment of using the voucher. To be able to benefit from this reduced rate of €5, vouchers are now available at the distribution points listed below.

Where can I pick up a voucher for a rapid antigen test?

The vouchers (maximum two per person) can be collected:

Can I pick up vouchers for the people who will be joining me at a restaurant, bar and/or café?

Vouchers are limited to two per person.

Where can I use the vouchers?

You can use these vouchers at any of the test centres listed above.

On Sundays and public holidays, you can have your test done at the centre for COVID-19 rapid antigen test certification (Centre de certification test antigénique COVID-19).

Where can I get the test done?

You can have the rapid antigen test done at any of the testing centres in Luxembourg City (see list above). You will receive a certificate showing your test result, which is valid for 48 hours. A financial contribution of €5 per certified rapid antigen test is required at the moment of using the voucher.

Who is eligible to receive vouchers for a rapid antigen test?

Anyone – Luxembourg City residents and non-residents alike – who wishes to frequent a business in the hospitality sector (HORECA) in Luxembourg City is eligible to collect vouchers for a rapid antigen test.

Are the old vouchers, which were valid until 31 October, still accepted at the testing centres?

As of 1 November 2021, these vouchers are no longer accepted. A financial contribution of €5 per certified rapid antigen test is required at the moment of using the voucher.

 

Are the rapid antigen test results valid for 48 hours?

As of 13 June, the rapid antigen test results are valid for 48 hours.

Will the result of the rapid antigen test also be available in the new national mobile app, CovidCheck.lu?

Some antigen test certificates are issued with a QR code, which will be available in your MyGuichet.lu e-space.
